Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. - Steve Jobs

Diamond Head

On Thursday, we decided to go for a hike up Diamond Head.

One of the cool things that we learned was that Diamond Head was used as a military look out point. As you can see in the picture, they built military stations into the volcano.

At the beginning of the trail they have pretty much the only resting spots on the hike. It didn't make a lot of sense to us to put them at the beginning.

Here we go.

Here's some stairs...

A mountain full of switchback to climb.

We had to crawl out of this little look out point.

Finally we reached the top.

We camped out up top & ate some sandwiches and chips.

The view.

I'd say the hike was worth it.

Pondering whether or not I want to hike down or call in some air support to lift me out.

Jake pondering how in the heck he's going to crawl under there to get off the top of the volcano. (Notice the cover is painted in camo.)

Success!

Switchbacks

Upon returning to our hotel, Jake found some more stairs to climb.

Becky found an escalator. Sucka!
